Spain's capital is vibrant, fresh and up for a good time. Visit for plenty of fiestas and very little siestas.
Make your way to the Puerta de Sol to feel the rush of metropolitan Madrid, the city's most central and famous square to try the local shops, cafes, restaurants and bars as well as the city's historical statues. Plaza Mayor square is another great place to visit for both tourists and locals. The area is a focal point for concerts, carnivals and festivals. When these aren't on, then visit for the arcaded shops around the perimeter.
For a bird's eye view of the city, take the cable car to the top of Casa de Campo park.
Birthday groups in Madrid will benefit from the large mix of activities on offer. Try your hand at traditional flamenco dancing, learn how to make cocktails, paintballing in the wilderness or segway around the city. If you're like us and absolutely refuse to grow up, then head to the water park.
If you're more of a chilled out group looking to relax in Madrid, visit the health club before visiting the Royal Palace or the large lake at the Buen Retiro Park.
Adjust your body clocks on arrival. Madrid birthday nights eat about 10pm, take a stroll and visit a few bars, hit the Clubs around 2am, party until the sun has risen, snack on traditional chocolate con churros and then hit the sack.
We recommend sharing a big selection of tapas between your group, try tortilla, patatas bravas, croquetas, olives and don't forget to order the sangria - delicioso!
