Freedom touch down in Barcelona!
After posting a poll on Facebook, our followers decided that they wanted to send us off packing to BARCELONA! You voted, we listened and before we knew it, we had a pink gin in hand and were touching down in sunny Spain. #workperks
Our ground agent, Joe was waiting for us in arrivals and quickly swept us into our
airport transfer and off to our accommodation we went.
After a quick show around of our spacious apartment, we got ourselves ready for the madness to begin. Little did we know what was in store for this jam packed, full of fun weekend.
Taxis in Barcelona are not only easy to come by but also cheap as we found heading past the beach and towards the port. We met our Barcelona team with warm welcoming faces and tonnes of tapas. The evening was filled with laughter and cocktails before heading to Kulas bar where we had dinner. After a long day we decided to get some sleep before our action-packed day tomorrow.
Up and excited for day two, we hopped into a taxi and headed to
Goofy Games. Where to begin… just think totally wiped out! We entered a field full of inflatables. There were sumo suits, slippery slides, sweeping arms and more. We laughed from start to finish, some of us even fell to the floor with laughter.
After a quick change, we headed back out, next up…
PAELLA MAKING! We didn’t really know what to expect but WOW, what a great activity and fantastic value for money!
We met the lovely Mara who was our chef for the evening. The event started by her taking us through the Mercado de La Boqueria Market where we were consumed by colours and smells in every direction. We came across a fish stall where Mara purchased our fish for the evening.
We headed back to the cooking school and sipped on Sangria while Mara shared her knowledge. Before we knew it, the apron strings were tied, and we are stirring a huge pan of paella.
The evening continued with roof top bars and sunset views of Barcelona’s port. A few cocktails later we took part in a guided bar crawl which is a great way to ensure entry into the best venues the city has to offer. After a quick stop off at the
Gents Club we continued our night heading to Barcelona beach where the clubs meet the sand. After dancing the night away, we headed back to the apartments for some well needed sleep.
With what felt like a blink of an eye we were up and out ready for the
Private Yacht. Now this was our kind of day out… Sunshine, sea and good company! With DJ Lucy on the decks (excuse the pun) we sailed and sung until our hearts were content with a belly full of more delicious tapas.
After returning to the dock we headed off for some lunch accompanied by a
Gin Tasting class at Kulas bar where we sampled a selection of gin based cocktails, let’s just say some of us are better than others to say the least.
As I’m sure you’ve probably gathered by now, we haven’t had much time to see the beautiful sites of Barcelona so far but not to worry as our lovely agent Joe with his head full of facts took us on a walking guided Sightseeing Tour. This was a fantastic way to see and learn about the history of this fascinating city and round off another successful FAM Trip! Barcelona is a definite YES from the Freedom team.
